The United Church of Christ in Nigeria was first and foremost established to evangelize the world and win souls for God’s kingdom. The evangelism department is one of the vibrant departments of the Church. The department is responsible for fashioning out methods and modern strategies of evangelism. New converts are nurtured and helped to associate with the Local Church for Spiritual growth.
The HGMO was established on 3rd October, 1973 with the following as selected leaders

The first missionary the HGMO had is Evang. John Kashim and he was posted to Hausa Land – Kuzai on 24th June, 1976. Presently, the HGMO has 22 mission fields across Nigeria with 17 Missionaries.
