The decision to create another new District Church Council (DCC) was resolved at a meeting of the Executive Council (EC) and later ratified by the GCC in 1985. The approval was given with January 1st 1986 set as the effective take-off date. Two Local Church Councils (LCCs) namely HEKAN LCC Nasarawa Kaduna and LCC Tudun Wada formed the new DCC, The DCC has also experienced steady growth over the years. When it was created, it has only two LCCs as mentioned above, but today the DCC has 4 LCCs, one Sub LCC with 3 prayer houses. The membership has grown from 700 at inception to 2000 presently. One unique thing about the DCC is the provision of leaders for the United Church of Christ in Nigeria. It is on record that the DCC has produced more clergy for the Church than any other DCC.

Like the DCCs within the Kaduna metropolis, the DCC has suffered from incessant religious crises leading to burning/destruction of its churches, Another set back the DCC is facing is the closure of virtually all the Textiles industries in Kaduna. The closure of the industries has seriously affected the growth of the DCC as most of these members became jobless and many were forced to leave back to their native homelands.

The DCC was growing steady and expanding in size. The GCC in another resolution, decided to carve out one of its LCC and merge it with another DCC. HEKAN LCC Ungwan Bije was removed from DCC Nassarawa and merged with DCC Kakuri. Similarly, Mission field Kwanta Yashi was added to DCC Nassarawa
