HEKAN DCC Kakuri officially received her seal of authority as District Church Council on the 3rd of July 1983. The seal was presented at the inaugural service by the founder Rev. Habila Aleyideino. Kakuri DCC has experienced rapid growth since its inception in 1983 from only 3 Local Church Councils in 1983; today DCC Kakuri has 5 LCCs and several Local Church Branches (LCBs) under her. It has expanded her to the southern part of Kaduna State. Physically, the DCC has built many churches and operates a full fledge Nursery, Primary and Secondary school. The school has graduated many students who are today doing well in other institutions. Many clergy have served in this DCC as chairmen at different times. The pioneer chairman was Rev. John Wesley of blessed memory who served from 1983.

The present chairman is Rev. Nuhu Mati The DCC has its own vehicle and has paid staff working at the DCC Headquarters. DCC Kakuri growth was evident by the number of LCCs under it. This positive development led to a split of the DCC into DCC Kakuri and DCC Television.
